The principal gateway of the complex, Padippura welcomes the visitors initially. The Padippura resembles the gateway of Padmanabhapuram Palace. This is a two storied building with an area of 1400 sqft. The Information Centre functions on the ground floor and the first floor has been arranged as the imaginary reading room of Vyloppilly Sreedhara Menon. Pen, chair, letters, etc., which were used by the great poet are arranged artistically and beautifully here. Another portion of the first floor is adorned with the instruments used by the legendary percussionist, Pallavoor Appu Marar.
